在排演一齣講述公主因錯信愛人以致國破家亡、最終自刎謝罪的京劇時，
一位臺灣女演員卻發現自己懷了曾辜負她、如今擔任此劇導演前夫的孩子。

夾在傳統舞臺與家庭的期待之間，她開始懷疑，這段故事是否只能如此收場。

While performing an opera about a princess whose misplaced love ends in her father’s death, a fallen kingdom, and her own suicide, a Taiwanese actress discovers she’s pregnant by her ex-husband.

Caught between the roles she’s expected to play onstage and at home, she begins to sense another ending may be possible.

舞台で、愛する者を信じた末に父を死へ追いやり、国を滅ぼし、自らも命を絶つ姫を描く京劇を演じる台湾人女優。

その最中、彼女はかつて自分を裏切った元夫――今はその演目の演出家でもある男の子を身ごもっていることを知る。

舞台の上でも、家庭の中でも、「求められる役割」に縛られる彼女は、
やがて、この物語には別の結末があり得るのではないかと気づき始める。
